NordVPN gets bundled (for pretty much free) often with other software/subscription such as Office 365 and H&R tax software so I would wait unless you need it now.

Proton has port forwarding while Nord doesn't. If you're on a private tracker that has seed/ratio requirements then Nord is at a big disadvantage.

I had the kill switch on, but I still got the notice. The only thing I thought it could be is that I had DNS setting on automatic and / or that the Nord app on Windows was leaking or not working properly. I updated the DNS setting, but went further by changing the adapter, binding the client, and setting the VPN protocol. Since those changes, I haven't gotten any notice. Hope that helps. Beside that one incident, I'm pretty happy with Nord.
