180 (before fees and taxes) *12 = 2160 for one year
Now, 2160 * 4 = 8640
Over 4 years, without taxes and fees, it is 8640.
Add state and other junk taxes to the total, it is a cool $10k over 3 years you have coughed out as a family 😆😆😆

It's always the larger picture that users do not take into account or aren't allowed to, when they dangle the shiny phones in front of you.

Even worse than that? When you "upgrade" every year or are given a 'deal' to stay with them after a year. That's how they become $$$$$ dollar companies. You become a perennial cash cow for these providers. They depend on your "it's too much to switch" or "they're good to me".

Your best bet is to stick to anything without contract or long term pricing. Yes, upfront it hurts, but the installment black hole will wring you dry. Doesn't matter who you go with.

2160 * 3 = 6480 for 3 years of service. But 4 new phones 1200 * 4 = 4800 already + bonus $200 gc

So $6480 / 4 = $1,620.00, subtract the $1200 value of the phone and you just got 3 years service for $420... $140 / year... $11.66 / month for unlimited. Plus fees sure but I don't see the downside here.

Isn't there a contract for 36 months? How did you switch to visible?

This isn't a terrible deal, but only if you were already planning on paying full price for four new iphone pro max's and want to be on a post-paid plan.

It's $180 per month, plus taxes and fees, for three years, which comes to $6480 before taxes and fees. That's $1620 per line over three years. At $1200 retail cost for each iPhone, that's $420 for service for three years, per line, which is $140 per year, plus taxes and fees.

Again, that's if you were planning on buying four iPhone or Max's outright. The real kicker is the taxes and fees. verizon has an estimator (https://www.verizon.com/support/t...estimator/), which for me in WA state is 11.45% + 7.9%, plus ~$5, which adds ~$10 per line per month (if I'm interpreting their results correctly), which brings it up to $260 per line for a year of service. Take away $16.66 per phone to account for the gift card value ($200/4 lines/3 years) but add the $40 activation fee per line($13.33 per year) and that's $257 for the year. Plus full tax on each $1200 iPhone, which they charge up front.

Given the deals on service for Black Friday for viable for $225, it's not a terrible price for post paid service, though I don't know what their "unlimited plus" plan gets you compared to Visible. According to copilot, it's the same speeds for unlimited plus (QCI 8) as Visibles premium, but you are locked in to the price with Verizon for 3 years, unlike with Visible. And of course, this all assumes you were in the market for four new iPhones and wanted to pay retail price for them.

When you look at it that way then you didn't exactly make out well since you "paid" $1200 for the phone, and if you want to consider the phone as free then you still paid $45 a line or more for service that can be had for $30 or less a month.

you will ended up upgrade your plan from Verizon Unlimited Welcome to Unlimited Plus, even Unlimited Ultimate due to Unlimited Welcome is the lowest tier which has lowest priority. in Boston area you will have no way to use internet at all 24/7 due to network congestion traffic.

Verizon is trash too. I been on spectrum for 10 months and get the same service as all the others for $30 unlimited a month. I'll never go back to Verizon and def wont go to AT&T.
I travel a ton, especially to rural areas and Verizon can't be beat. I tried Spectrum last year for about 4 months and it wasn't worth it. Good service in rural areas but go to a concert, sporting event, airport, or city center and it becomes nearly useless. I don't love Verizon prices or customer support but their service is the best.

You get $4800 in value but do not retain it because the next, new version is always around the corner and you upgrade. Hence, the perennial cash cow bit.
But you still need phones. This deal works if a) you need four new phones; b) were prepared to buy these premium phones; and c) are ok with Verizon as your carrier. Not everyone has the bucks to layout for four premium phones at once. Find a better deal to compare this to for those who need four premium new phones instead of just being negative.

Regardless you still paid $1k for a 16pro. The cash back and gift card could have been used to buy something else. I'm not sure a 16pro even 512gb is worth that today.

You're not following along. I'm dividing the total paid over 3 year by 4 phones.

180 * 36 = 6,480
