I loved this game. Interesting story line, incredible scenery and I enjoyed the mechanics of how you fight. The game does start out a little slow as you gradually build up your abilities. It's absolutely worth trying at $15.
Terrible price for a cut scene simulator. Boring linear game that is over 3/4 cut scenes. Boss fights are cinematic and boring.
I like linear and non-linear games. Being linear isn't a detriment to the game. You're factually incorrect about the "over 3/4 cut scenes". And the boss fights are one of the highlights of the game. Unfortunately, the combat system leaves a lot to be desired.
The soundtrack alone makes this game worth playing. I think a lot of the criticisms come from those who aren't lifelong FF fans and that's ok. My 1st FF was Cecil and the gang. Play the game for yourself and make your own decision.

This is more like the pre-2020 sales on Final Fantasy titles. Great to see prices dropping to below $20 like they used to. You just have to play the waiting game a little. It's a no-brainer to pick it up at this price if you're a fan of the series. People complaining are probably bitter they paid over $50 it upon release. The game has its flaws, but easy to overlook them at this price.
