Great speakers. I bought the first set (not mkii) for my office at full price. Then earlier this year bought another set (mkii) for my kids music room for $100/each.

You can't go wrong at this price.

And if you got the extra cash, they pair perfectly with the LSR310S.

Thanks for posting these! My Mackie CR3s from 8 years ago died the other week and I've been in the market for a replacement. After looking at a bunch of studio monitor reviews these seem to be consistently receive really positive reviews.

This beats what I got 'em for at B&H in June by $5.

I had the 5s and loved 'em so much, I got the 6s.

I'm using a headphone amp that also works as a pre-amp. Connected the monitors via XLR. Pretty slick setup, especially when paired with a subwoofer.

I have a pair of 5s setup with the LSR310S subwoofer as my desk speakers and it's fantastic. I also have a pair of the 8s as my garage speakers, also great. Love the JBL studio monitors.

I bought the 305s and a couple of years later the 306s. Both are great, and well respected in all the reviews I read before the first purchase. If you have a home studio, you can't go wrong with these. You will need an audio interface either way. Many audio interfaces are available for ~$50 and up, depending on inputs.

I agree about the subwoofer, but $399 is a pretty steep price.

I have 306Ps for my synth and they've sounded great and worked flawlessly for years. Conversely my Rokit KRK 5s that I use for mixing in my office both developed a loud hiss that required me to replace capacitors to fix twice in the same time frame. Seriously considering these as a replacement just to save myself the hassle.

The subwoofer price is steep, but I can assure you it sounds amazing. I have it at home and have a treaty set up with my neighbors. One day for fun, I set up my bass synth and we found which exact frequency causes his downstairs vents to rattle, his ceiling fan to rattle, it was a fun experiment haha.

You can save some cash by purchasing the PreSonus Eris Sub8. I have the 306's paired with a PreSonus sub in my small home office/"studio," and it sounds phenomenal. The PreSonus subs have balanced passthroughs which is really nice.

I have a pair of these for my computer. While i don't often play loud music without headphones, these are great for computer speakers where you are listening nearby. They are crisp, clean, and have good bass on their own. Pretty close to the experience of listening to high end head phones.
