yes, i plugged in a 1tb sandisk usb thumbdrive and shield is able to decode all audio/video codecs including TrueHD dolby 7.1 , dolby vision, HDR etc.

Super annoying, happens about twice a month.
I thought we were supposed to see a next generation one of these soon, I mean its been out since 2019.
But hey I have a Shield K1 tablet from 2014 that I still sometimes connect to a TV, install SmartTube on and watch Youtube stuff, or install a video player with SMB support and watch most 1080p or lower files over the network. I also have the Shield gamepad for it.
I thought the Shield TV was more interesting when they still included the gamepad.
i think there are beefier, more capable options available now. but they cost a bit more.
