I've had one of these for years and have always really liked it. But unless you really want to use the gaming features, I would just get the ONN model that was here on FP a while ago. It was about $50 and I am basically just as satisfied with it. The Nvidia does have a spectacular remote but the ONN one is pretty good too.

This is the 2019 Pro version, so it's 6 years old and still the king of streaming boxes.

Same here. I see all the comments about it being the best streaming box, but not sure what it does that can't be done on a much cheaper box.
Sideload anything you want. Plex Server, attach USB Storage, Upscale to 4k better than any. Add a bluetooth control and an emulator and you have an arcade, this plus all the Ge Force games. Fast smooth and still receiving OTA updates. If you want to keep it simple get an ONN box from walmart.

what do you use them mainly for? Some examples please. Trying to decide if it's a want or a need.
I have 6 of them in 3 different houses and they're still the best IMHO.

Everything streams easy with these but the icing on the cake is Plex remote streaming.
I have a house in Pittsburgh and stream the Steelers games flawlessly in HD. Live streams while transcending. When I watch recordings it automatically skips commercials and I ff through plays to speed up watching time with zero buffering.
FYI, the server is a 5-6 year old desktop with, I think, BG560 chipset offloading the transcode to the onboard gpu.

This site is called SLICKdeals; and 15% off a streaming box from 6+ years ago, with only 16GB of storage and 3GB of RAM, is not a deal. I don't care what anybody says.
It never goes on sale, take that 15% off and enjoy the best streaming device!

Apple fan boys are still so jealous of this streaming box. Yep still the best long after it's conception. Android > Apple. Also Tesla > Edison. It's just how it is.

50 vs 170 and it does so much. I had 2nd gen since 2017 and not a hiccup. buy quality and it should last--these have done me prouder than a grandchild

Have had this for years and love it. Still the snappiest and most intuitive android TV interface Ive seen, wish they would update it, think they have prioritized other products.

I prefer my DUNE HOMATICS R 4K Plus 4GB S905X4 that I paid $85 last year shipped for half the price over this old tech.
Will check that out... Had you previously used a Shield? I love mine but have always been surprised no lower cost options

I'm not sure if any of you have used one of these recently... but DEAR GOD... they are so awful now. Laggy and buggy AF. Google destroyed these with their OS.
what are you even talking about?? I use mine daily, still as responsive and trouble free as the day I bought it years ago. IT IS THE BEST STREAMING BOX available.

Kind of shocking that they haven't yet. I'd love to get one to use as a Plex Server but would be so annoyed if they then released a new version.

I stream netflix and jellyfin, is pretty much all I do with 2022 (?) Roku UltraHD box. Does this do anything awesome on top fof that? Id expect my jellyfin server to do upscaling or whatever. If theres a way to run an nes/snes emulator *on* the nvidia (not stream from a separate pc), thatd be of high interest.
It supports 24-bit audio...maybe you need that?
