This ThinkPad P16s Gen 4 stands out as a well built Windows workstation with strong CPU and memory specs, a great keyboard, and a vivid 16 inch OLED screen that suits productivity and light creative work. The ThinkPad service experience also gets praise, including fast mail in or onsite repairs. Battery life is only moderate, around 3 to 4 hours under load, and the 300 nit brightness on some configurations is weak for daylight use. The speakers are poor for media, the palmrest can creak, and the Wi Fi card is soldered. A solid pick if you value workstation hardware and support over ultraportable polish.
Lenovo onsite service can handle screen damage quickly with mail-in turnaround and overnight shipping.
The matte display finish can reduce glare and improve usability when working under lights or outdoors.
The HX370 configuration can offer strong performance per energy consumption compared with Intel i9 options.
The laptop can support local LLM experiments using the integrated GPU with extra memory allocation.
The screen can lag when tabbing between applications, especially in Chrome.
Battery life can be limited to about 3-4 hours under moderate load with slower wake from deep hibernate.
Speaker audio quality can be poor for media use and may sound like an internal PC beeper.
The Wi‑Fi card can be soldered to the motherboard, which can complicate repairs or upgrades.

I meant for business. ThinkPads with a lot of RAM are typically used for business or school use. A comparable Macbook is almost 2x this price.
