I like the simplicity of this system, but just throw the latest 300lb 16kWh battery on a hand truck (Ecoworthy or Humsenk) along with a cheap split phase inverter for either brand for like 2.5k all in.
Any part of that still eligible for tax savings?

I currently have a Sunrun solar system with a LG Chem backup battery connected to Southern California Edison. If I buy this and connect to Ecoflow panel which connects to my house panel. Will that work and if so will it affect the price that I sell to Edison?

Isn't plugging it in to my refrigerator "installing"?

There is no 'install' to this.. you simply plug it in and the batteries charge up. Done.

How is this different than a standard outdoor generator like a Generac (other than gas vs electric)?

the 30/60/90 setups at costco are actually enticing as well $/kwh if you were going bigger than 18. and you get a trolley and the EV charger.

My home I have Enphase solar connectivity done to the grid. if i buy these batteries, do i need smart panel again ? I find the Enphase control board has all these breakers, points to hook up external batteries. Just was trying to learn/understrand first. If i only need batteries then i can as well buy this 48V 100Amp BMS protected 4 of them for 1.2K$ ? please Search in the net for this document on wiring Enphase Energy System Installation Compliance Guide

The batteries and components would all be eligible for the federal credit, state credits/rebates will have much more varying requirements.
Federal credit includes panels, batteries, necessary components to hook up and labor for installation of any systems.

This unit isn't really meant to be "outdoors" but more in garage/shedded areas connected to the main breaker panel. System can act as a whole home backup but a lot of people use it in conjunction with solar to offset evening usage.
If you have a long term outage you would still grab a generator but this can cover short term/spotty power issues via just the stored energy. This combined with a generator is a good mixture as the battery will cover short term outage and any power spikes and the generator can recharge it at its most efficient output instead of adjusting to loads.

Benefit of Ecoflow is how plug and play it all is + app controls, if you just want more power per dollar there's brands like Eco-Worthy or Docan.

Please NO! IRS will audit and reject it. It needs to be installed as well by a certified technician. System must be functioning by end of this year. IRS rule (simple version):You can only take the Residential Clean Energy Credit when the equipment is installed and ready for use, not just purchased.

Yes, You can pair two DPU's, but will need the 50A hub, or three DPU's but I believe you need the panel 2.
FYI, The new DPU-X was just released for a less space option, But 2 of these with 36kwh is a great price.
Your HVAC Condenser will probably need a soft starter. I'd recommend a Micro-Air Flex Home AC Soft Starter.
