I have one and the amount of cleaning you need to do is ridiculous. Ive only used purified water. I've ran tons of vinegar through this and it's light always only indicates that it needs cleaning

I use distilled water and haven't had any issues.

Pretty sure they are set to tell you to clean them after the machine has been running for 100 hours, whether that happens over the course of 5 days or 5 months. I'll tell you a secret: I don't always change my fridge's water filter every 90 days like it tells me to either.

I'm on I think my 4th machine over the course of about 6 or 7 years. all I can say is you should only buy these from Sam's or Costco.
