They're pricier, but other brands require maintenance and mods that these usually don't. They print great out the box. $399 for a Bambu P1S is a great starter printer.
Id say if you like to tinker this is a good second printer. Then you can use your reliable workhorse to print replacement parts and mods for your project creality, heh.
Community Reviews
The K1 SE is a fast Core XY printer that can feel close to plug and play for PLA, with auto leveling, input shaping, and strong out of the box speed for the price. The enclosure version is better suited to ABS because it helps keep warm air around the print and reduce warping, though it does not handle fumes, so ventilation still matters. The refurb angle is the main risk, since some units arrive dusty or need small fixes, while others print flawlessly after a quick setup. A solid low cost pick if you are comfortable checking a refurb.
Tinkerers who want a cheap CoreXY starter, because it auto-levels, uses input shaping, and can print PLA well once dialed in.
PLA hobbyists making everyday parts or figurines, because it prints PLA well and can feel nearly plug-and-play after setup.
ABS makers with a ventilated enclosure setup, because the enclosure helps prevent warping from drafts and cooling.
Second-printer owners who already have a reliable workhorse, because this machine is better suited to tinkering and replacement-part printing.
Hands-off beginners who want a printer that never needs diagnosis, because refurb units can arrive needing part swaps, tightening, or troubleshooting.
People who do not want to tinker at all, because the printer can require bed, nozzle, belt, or probe fixes before it runs right.
Buyers expecting a flawless refurb out of the box, because some units arrived dusty, scratched, disconnected, or missing parts.
ABS printers without strong ventilation, because the enclosure does not stop fumes and still needs exhaust or room airflow.

Like Apple, it just works.
That and Apple is getting rather bad about closed eco system etc. Also, if someone says they have $500 to spend on a Laptop there are basically no Apple options. If someone says they want to say under $200 the A1 mini is the only option (at $199). It's a very compromised option.
Hopefully I actually use this one. I bought a resin printer a few years ago, and never got to it, so I sold it last year.

Mine was pretty dusty, had some scratches on the bed, and a disconnected bowden tube that I easily popped back in. Those were the only issues that I could see. And now it has cranked out four prints that I'm very happy with. I see some slight ghosting/ringing on vertical walls that I want to get rid of, but it's minor. I suspect that I can get it to go away just by slowing down a bit, and I'm also seeing people on forums say I should turn off the "arc configure" setting in the slicer.
Also, hot DAMN this thing prints fast. I already bought the AI camera upgrade, found one on eBay for $13. Add that to the $111 printer purchase, and this will be the best $124 that I've ever spent. I probably won't bother upgrading to an enclosure unless I decide to print ABS/Nylon one day.

One foot won't lay flat. There is filament residue on the end of the nozzle. Bowden tube disconnected. Nozzle clear tool has burnt filament residue on it. Screen has fingerprints/smudges. Pet hair on snipping tool. No instructions for assembly. And the protective packaging foam was just kind of tossed in the box. No USB drive.
I have requested a return.
