Set and forget. As in something that just works and will work for thousands of hours. Personally I'd recommend Bambu, Prusa, and to some degree Flashforge.

They're pricier, but other brands require maintenance and mods that these usually don't. They print great out the box. $399 for a Bambu P1S is a great starter printer.

The Bambu A1 Combo is an over-rated POS!!! imho.

Of all the printers I have, it is the only one I actually hate. Set and forget? Not even close.

$90 more and you get the enclosure version (200). And includes a camera among other things.

Used machine that is beaten up. I returned one of these because you get one chance to talk to customer service to have them send you parts and then you are on your own.

The enclosure is stop the print from cooling down. If ABS cools too much it'll warp and ruin the print. Enclosure help a lot with this issue. Heated chambers are even better. The enclosure will do nothing to prevent fumes. You still want a room with a ton of ventilation or exhaust fan.

Heated chamber? I haven't seen any printers like that. Only see enclosure. Why do they still make open printers if enclosure or chamber work much better?

You don't see many heated chambers because it's unnecessary at the hobbiest level. I've never had a warping issue as long as my ambient temp in the enclosure is over 95f or so, which is trivial considering there is a giant heater already under the bed.

You don't want heat for PLA, so plenty of people will never need an enclosure and be perfectly happy not printing ABS. PETG does like hotter nozzle temps, but I don't think you need an enclosure for it, just don't print under an AC duct or something dumb.

The K1 SE is a great first printer. I later got the Flashforge AD5X for multicolor. The AD5X prints finer than the Creality, but the Creality is built much better. I'm happy with both! At $111, that's a great deal!

Got one of these the last time it was on sale and it has been flawless, added the "AI" camera as well, super easy.

If you're printing PLA this is basically the best bang for your buck.

Wow instant buy at that price. It's a refurb, but I know how to tinker with Creality machines already. If you don't want to tinker, this might not be the deal for you. Maybe look for Bambu or Flashforge sales.

$111 more and you can get a second!

flashforge with CB during sale is marginally more expensive and personally I prefer printing on it
