I love it. Its surprisingly durable in uneven or slightly gravel parking lots. My kids really enjoy it (altho been on the shelf for a while now).

at checkout.... simply ask for card and valid ID. Members should not have an issue with that. But asking a card at the entrance is an overkill...... I used to love Costco but many things are going in opposite direction lately and started hating it.
it is meant to increase customer service. People would come in, not realize their membership was expired, shop and then get upset at the cashier's because their membership was expired. The only difference is that instead if showing your card, you are scanning it. It also helps them automate the traffic counts rather than doing then manually.

100% agree. Plus long checkout lines, full pat down when you leave the store, and no curbside pick-up. Sam's Club "Scan and Go" for the win.
Me gusta el Scan and Go de Sams Club. BJ's tiene algo similar.

lol. They are probably the most ethical retailer around.

Want a loophole? Get a friend to buy you some Costco gift cards, smallest available denomination (which used to be $25 per card). Your gift card is now your entry pass. When you want to buy something, show the checkout person and ask them to ring you up as a non-member (used to be member 99). Pay using your card and they'll let you use a different card to pay the remainder.
Unless they've changed it in the last 18 months, you can buy $10 Costco gift cards.

Depending on your state laws, you can also say at the door you're going to the pharmacy if your state requires pharmacies to serve everyone. But, without a shop card or a member with you, you won't be able to buy anything other than a prescription item.

Any thoughts on Premier protein shakes? Online, it's $6 off a case, but that's $31. I think in store it's cheaper. I can get 1 of each eligible case (7) and add some other items. But not sure it's a good deal.

No. There's a list of like 200 things that qualify. Uber isn't one of them

Can't stand Costco. Hate the way they throw an absolute fit over showing your card to get in.
Do you offer really, really dumb takes as a service? You could be the next non-ai assistant to the greats

Nope cuz at checkout people get mad they can't check out without a membership and then the members get held up over shenanigans.
