PS5 doesn't even support PCIe 5.0. It's a 4.0x4 M.2 slot. You'd get zero benefit from a 5.0 drive, and likely have a worse time with temperatures since these early gen 5 controllers run hot.

Along with SSD, I should have purchased the Controller+Charger bundle ($69.99 after $20 off) instead of protein powder (I already have portable monitor). I was too hung up on getting something in $25-$30 range to get to $250.
I got PS5 slim disc with 20% Paypal cashback, and getting 4TB SSD, extra controller, charger for $255 ($225 + $70 - $40) + tax would've been nice.

Quote from dadab :
DRAM less design. Is it a good option to use as external drive to run guest OS on this one? of course after removing the heatsink

My order for the SSD got cancelled. The protein I ordered was delivered though with partial discount.
