This seems like a pretty good deal, I've been thinking about building out a raspberry pi for some network utility container stuff. Would this be better?

The port placements on this are so odd. Still a good deal but something to consider

Beware of the allstate warranty. I am in the process of trying to get them to fix my vacuum and I had to fill out all these forms, they were supposed to send a box to fit it and return, but never did so I have to follow up. They didn't send me any info for following up, so I got to chase them down.

Beware: besides the high risk of malware from these Chinese mini-PCs, the performance according to legit amazon reviews is pretty bad, struggles with basic office applications even.

Also, there is a ton of astroturfing and fake positive reviews surrounding these things. They will swarm here even on SD. Just looking at the sheer amount of positive sentiment from reddit accounts with 1 or 2 posts, one to make it seem like the account is organic and the second to shill this trash. It's mindblowing how easy it is for shady companies to shape public perception these days. You really can't trust anything on the internet anymore.

Just walk away from these things.

A couple years back I was in the same boat, needed some local network done and since I already had the Pi, I went with that. Unless you are pretty good with linux, which I'm not, I was frustrated needing some simple tasks, I gave up and bought a mini pc with N100, set it up in a couple hours: family NAS, sql server for development, ftp server and even serve a small web application. It is working non-stop flawlessly for 2 years now...
