Pros and cons to both. Most dinner plates are ceramic/glass and will dull your straight blades with every slice. Unless you want to add sharpening your steak knives to your maintenance plan, semi-serrated (serrations on the edge in contact with the plate) knives like these are a nice compromise.
Guys, what does this mean? Designed in Italy. Expertly engineered in Germany. Where is it made or manufactured?
Designed in Italy. Expertly engineered in Germany," indicating the design and engineering heritage while the actual manufacturing takes place in Vietnam.
It doesn't help that staff keep pushing this stuff. I miss this site when staff sticked to moderation and most everything posted was a actual deal.
I wish there was a good competitor to SD as I'm ready to jump ship.
well I remember when the guy who started this site jumped from FatWallet, if you want to know when that was, it was a few weeks before I became a member.
He posted on FW that he did not like the moderation there and was starting his own site, and if you joined now, you could be a "Founding Member".

How did the guy who started this site jump from FW a few weeks before you joined in March 2008, if the guy you're replying to has been a member since March 2005? I feel like I'm very much missing something here. 🤔
I was super interested because of the brand name and the savings listed, but Amazon says they're typically $58 and these look like their slightly sharper than my butter knives. 🫤 TBH, they look only slightly nicer than some low quality knives I have that came in a "picnic-in-a-bag" set. If anyone sees more knife deals, definitely keep posting.
You do need to take a deep dive in the Zwilling Twins. It used to mean that the product was actually made in Germany. Single man meant if was manufactured elsewhere … not always, but more often than not. Now, not so much. Bought the zwilling twin shears last week and they are made in China. These are made in Vietnam. Not saying anything negative, but not the same process as knives made just 5 years ago with manufacturing being sent out of country and most of the time hidden in marketing messages.
