LG's 45 inch UltraGear 45GX950A-B stands out as a premium OLED gaming and media monitor, with 5120 by 2160 resolution, 165 hertz at full resolution, and a 330 hertz full HD mode. The 800R curve, glossy OLED panel, and strong HDR brightness make it feel immersive, and the display is described as exceptional enough to justify even a much higher launch price. The main tradeoffs are the very aggressive curve and limited productivity appeal, especially for office use. It also needs serious graphics power to drive it well, and there are isolated reports of dead on arrival units.
The monitor can deliver a strong gaming experience when paired with FSR for demanding titles.
The OLED display can appear glossy rather than true black, which may suit bright-room viewing preferences.
The PayPal Cyber Week 20% discount can work on this model, bringing the effective price to about $960 before tax.
The PayPal rewards points can post immediately after purchase when using PayPal pay-later options.
PayPal pay-later eligibility can be inconsistent, with the 20% offer sometimes disappearing or switching to a different PayPal method.
The 800R curvature can feel too aggressive for productivity use, making a flatter curve preferable for some workflows.
The monitor can arrive DoA and fail to power on, requiring seller resolution.
The screen height and curve can be hard to ignore for office use, which may limit comfort versus expectations.
