LG's 45 inch UltraGear 45GX950A-B stands out as a premium OLED gaming and media monitor, with 5120 by 2160 resolution, 165 hertz at full resolution, and a 330 hertz full HD mode. The 800R curve, glossy OLED panel, and strong HDR brightness make it feel immersive, and the display is described as exceptional enough to justify even a much higher launch price. The main tradeoffs are the very aggressive curve and limited productivity appeal, especially for office use. It also needs serious graphics power to drive it well, and there are isolated reports of dead on arrival units.

  • The monitor can deliver a strong gaming experience when paired with FSR for demanding titles.

  • The OLED display can appear glossy rather than true black, which may suit bright-room viewing preferences.

  • The PayPal Cyber Week 20% discount can work on this model, bringing the effective price to about $960 before tax.

  • The PayPal rewards points can post immediately after purchase when using PayPal pay-later options.

  • PayPal pay-later eligibility can be inconsistent, with the 20% offer sometimes disappearing or switching to a different PayPal method.

  • The 800R curvature can feel too aggressive for productivity use, making a flatter curve preferable for some workflows.

  • The monitor can arrive DoA and fail to power on, requiring seller resolution.

  • The screen height and curve can be hard to ignore for office use, which may limit comfort versus expectations.

It's been coming in and out of stock.

For those unable to see the PayPal pay later:

On checkout, select 'PayPal Credit', and proceed to checkout. It'll redirect you to PayPal, hit the x on the top right corner and select Pay in 4.

Make sure you have the offer already saved in PayPal.

Cheers.

Yeah seems like they are putting some in stock sporadically. As for the paypal thing, I contacted them since I kept getting an error when trying to save the 20% cash back for using pay in 4. I noticed a couple hours later that they gave me a generic response of my chat being delivered to another rep. The 20% cash back coupon for pay in 4 is gone now and it looks to be replaced with 20% cash back when using paypal's "pay later" method.

That's just my experience so far just in case anyone else is dealing with this.

All the pay later options are gone for me, only pay now and paypal credit are available. If you look at the other threads about this issue, it seems that PP automated approval process is very touchy and disables the pay later options for people who either went back and forth in their cart or just added a new CC to their PP account.

THIS is the monitor I have been waiting for! Sadly, the curvature is a showstopper for me, as I need to use it for Productivity about 75% of the time. I need no lower than 1200R curve. I really hope LG produces another version with a flatter curve soon!

I am glad I didn't jump on this deal. I stared at Best Buy for 5 minutes today and the curve ( 800R is too curvy) and the height (not long enough, this really should be 5120-by-2880 spec like apple monitor for it to be useful for office setting) are both hard to ignore.
