Sliding variant is available on direct tool for $10 more. No battery or charging, but you can cut larger than 2x4 that way. Considering returning this for the slide.

I've had bad luck getting this to make a clean cut through a 2x4... is it just me, or does it just lack power? It gets stuck half way on me

Me, I work in maintenance and use this at least once a week. Its great for cutting 2x4s, door casing and small baseboard/crown. It'll even cut metal closet rods if you go super slow.

You have to understand it's limits though. Its a battery-powered saw, use at least a 4ah battery and go slower than a corded saw.
