This Sonos Arc Ultra, Sub 4, and Era 300 bundle is a premium home theater setup that stands out for easy expansion, strong Atmos movie playback, and solid music performance. The wireless speakers, built in amplification, and room grouping make it simple to deploy without a receiver, and the Era 300s add flexibility for surround effects and whole home audio. The main hesitation is value, since Costco and other pricing comparisons narrow the savings, and some prefer Samsung Q990F or Q990D systems for better bang for the buck. It is a strong fit if convenience and Sonos integration matter more than chasing the lowest price.

Common Questions (5)

  • It can sound better than the Samsung Q990F/Q990D for home theater, especially with more presence and better expansion options, but Samsung is often described as the better value and sometimes the higher-rated overall system. The Sonos setup is also favored for music and for people who want a more flexible, expandable ecosystem.

  • The bundle is about $109 cheaper than a Costco-style component total when the extra buy-together coupon is included, and some math in the thread puts it around $258 cheaper than a straight component sum. Costco also adds credits or gift cards on some purchases, which can narrow the gap.

  • The main upgrade is the two Era 300 surrounds, so it makes sense only if your current sound feels incomplete or you want stronger surround effects and more placement flexibility. If you already like the Arc Ultra + Sub 4 combo, the extra cost is mainly for adding rear speakers.

  • It is strong for movies and can be very good for music, with tight bass and good integration across other Sonos speakers. One caveat is that some listeners find it less satisfying for music vocals than for theater-style playback.

  • Sonos does not support DTS audio codecs. The workaround is to set the player to multichannel PCM, but Dolby content then requires switching the player back to bitstream.

I purchased this system separately with a bunch of the discount off like new resale deals that happened earlier this year. But, I only purchased it after having tried the Samsung 990c, being disappointed with it, and returning it. The Samsung sounded too soundbarry to me, and even though it sounded better than Samsung soundbars from the early 2010's, I didn't feel the improvement was as huge as reviews would lead you to believe. The Sonos system is like halfway between a 990c type system and traditional discrete HT system. It really comes down to how discerning you are when it comes to audio vs how much you value a fexible & easy to deploy system.

Is this a joke? Adorama has been around a while and is legit. I've bought a MacBook and Canon camera from them in the past with no issues.
Agree not everyone is aware of this pretty good store in nyc... They have some of the best holiday deals.. just that sd folks are probably not aware of..

I don't think it's that good. Costco has the Ultra and Sub for $1500. Era 300 seems to be 379 everywhere, so this is only a $9 discount to the whole package.
You forgot to add $80 apple gift card from Arc and $60 apple gift card from Sub gen 4 if you purchase from Costco, along with free $80 Arc ultra wallmount and additional 30% accessories coupon from each.

If you plan to buy the ERA 300 speakers anyway (at today's price) and you want the OEM ARC wall bracket from SONOS, the Costco price is virtually identical if you consider the $140 in Apple Credit to be equal to cash (it is for me since I use several of their services).
There are cashback sites with 2.5% available for Adorama. Costco card members may be eligible for 2.0% store cashback.
Costco: Gives you better return options (90 days minimum), but more hassle to claim the wall bracket and apple credit. You can also wait for a better deal on the ERA 300 if you aren't needing them right away.
Adorama: Simple purchase with no rebate hassle. Less flexible return options - 30 day return policy and you will have to pay the shipping. Options to click through cashback sites for an extra 2.5% in addition to your CC cashback.

Any similar deal on Sonos Arc ultra with 2x Era 300. Just without Sub
You should purchase a sub before surrounds IMO.

It seems it's entirely subjective to which system is "better". Sonos seems to excel if you're using it for music compared to the Samsung. Rtings has Samsung overall as the better system. I was able to get the q990d for $700 less 20% back from PayPal, I doubt I'll really be able to appreciate the difference. Let alone a 3x cost difference.
Thanks for the tip....followed the same and ordered q990d with samsung workplace discount and paypal 20% back....Do you happen to know the wal-mount links for bar and surround speakers.

Ive tried a number of sound bar systems and Sonos (to me) is by far the best for the money.
Best all around for movies and music. Balanced sound even when turned on loud, great tight bass, top aesthetics and if you have other sonos speakers around the house, they all work together and tune together (so no echo like is often the case when using airplay only) for music. If you listen to music at all, its sonos hands down. Not a sonos fan boy at all.. but appreciate great sound and sonos is the closest i got to a separate speaker system. If you're willing to go used on marketplace and CL, you can put together similar sonos system for a lot less.
