Any pros to this over Bitwarden apart from better UI?

They know their software is really good so they hook you in with a little deal like this and then you're stuck. They never give us existing subscribers a break. I dread the day that they will bump prices and I have to switch to some alternative.

When I did a side by side test last year, Bitwarden was a lot worse at autofill on mobile. Core functionality is pretty comparable, just lots of little convenience use cases where 1pw does a better job.

So -- copy paste? Problem solved.

For everyone moaning back and forth about 1Password versus Bitwarden, crying about those fictitious bad actors salivating over getting access to your password repository full of Kohls shopping and Merlin bird watching passwords, complaining about the pricing structure....

I bet y'all don't lock your front doors or your car either. Or you still do banking/medical on your mobile. Or you don't have 2FA turned on for each and every account.

Here's a reasonable alternative -- use a spiral ring notebook and a ballpoint pen. Write things down in code too. 100% not going to be hacked "online". And even if someone gets a copy of it, they'll need to decipher not only the code, but also your chicken scratch handwriting!

I am unclear with the concept of 1password. I am on apple ecosystem. What purpose does 1password serve and how would it significantly simplify or secure my life considering that apple ecosystem support auto-fill for passwords using my passkey (fingerprint or facial recognition)?

I've used the 1Password family plan since the demise of Lastpass. Great app. Great reminders about poor security. It can be a bit iffy with autofill on Android, but I would strongly recommend.

Multi year subscriber to 1password but would wholly recommend bitwarden to anyone as an excellent (and free!) option. I'm just stuck paying for 1password because I onboarded my aging parents on to it years ago and they wouldn't handle a switch well. Still, they make a great essential privacy/security product and I don't mind supporting them.

Anyone have experience using or thoughts on Proton Pass vs 1Password?
I am having issues with 1Password on android with it not auto filling even though it pops up showing i have a password to auto fill with. Also sometimes my search box in 1Password on android doesnt work, it wont type letters until I go back to the home screen. Does anyone else have these issues on 1password android app?
The 1 thing I like about 1Password is that you can add unlimited items under an object. So for example if I create a login in 1password for Expedia, it will have the username, password and website address, but I can also add another URL if there are multiple domains or urls for the site but also i can add another password field for secret questions, add another password field for PIN, you can add another password field for recovery codes or whatever you want to add. And it is all under the one listing on 1password. (The reason I add them as password fields vs just putting in the notes section is firstly so they are hidden with dots when you view the listing on 1password but also because you can just click it to copy it vs having to highlight the text and copy. When I tried BitWarden it was limited to only being able to add a single password item to each login listing.

1password is weak with Android phones. It is definitely not a seamless integration.
This has nothing to do with 1Password but with Google wanting users to use their Chrome password managers instead. They purposely break autofill despite enabling it in settings. You can see this by using the beta chrome and changing one simple flag in chrome://flags. Then everything works flawlessly. Blame Google not 1Pass

I just finished installing 1password after seeing this deal. OMG coming from the abomination that has become Nordpass, this thing is freaking fantastic. All of the auto-fills are so fast and just work. The best part was passkey integration which is starting to be required by some of the websites I use. It worked the first try. Evidently Nordpass is stuck in the stone ages and cannot get their browser extension to work with them. I was this thrilled when I first started using Nordpass but this is absolutely worth them buying out my remaining one year subscription!

I second the comments that encourage bitwarden and/or keypass. These big companies are ripe for the issues LastPass had with security.

Really wish existing users were able to get some kind of discount when these things roll around. Always tempts me to move to a competitor instead.
