The PayPal Pay in 4 promo seems to be dwindling down fairly quickly and some have already exhausted, so wouldn't count on it for everyone unfortunately.
That said, hope you and others like your Comma 4 and us 3x customer can hear the pros/cons before considering upgrade when these more fragile older versions start to fail.
I would love to do this, but did not have a great experience with the comma 3 and the Discord community that they recommended is super toxic, whosoever is managing that account, i feel sorry for that guy and his power trip as a "moderator"
Comma sucks. They released the 4 with almost no noticeable upgrade to the 3X. Basically, it's a way to get people to upgrade once they deprecate the 3x. What a scam of a company. There's so much other clones, you might as well get a clone.
no sunnypilot support and alternative roms likely will never materialize; forced deprecation seems to be a real strategy as this appears to be a worse product solving no problem; longtime C3 user.

What car is this worth getting for? Seems adaptive cruise control and lane centering especially on highways is pretty common in 2020+ cars, at least it is in Toyotas

This product is more so an upgrade that greatly improves the stock systems. It allows the car to stay in the lane even without clear lane lines and the adaptive cruise handles sudden acccerlation changes from a lead car way better. Also, it overrides the stock system and will offer hands-free driving without too many warnings.
To answer your question, it is only compatible in cars that already have stock adaptive cruise control and lane centering, since those cars are programmed to receive those LDAS signals. This can't be retrofitted in older cars. But any new car would be worth getting it for, just make sure to check compatablity since some of the latest 2024+ cars are starting to use encrypted signals which prevent installation of the Comma.

Sunnypilot support is definitely coming ,in the keynote, they mentioned sending in advance ten devices to the sunnypilot team. Its just a matter of time, but won't be a day one thing so just run stock openpilot in the meantime.
Love the new sleek form factor, always hated the old C3x one.
I wonder if this works better than Rivian's current Driver+ on highways as Rivian's uses at least 6 built-in cameras vs. comma3's two. But having complete hands free and on any road sounds real nice, and price is appealing too

Looks like they've got it working in the dev branch.
I cashed in on this deal, but mainly because I still have a EON gathering dust.
