why do you complain on every single apple thread about this? you seem to complain alot about the prices. this has been the same price since the day it was released. complaining it even more wont lower the power the price anymore.

frankly, RAM prices are going up b/c of the AI battles. a

youll find that the new chips Apple has put in these are top notch in terms of performance and reliability. storage and ram is another story, but these prices are decent for what they can do. if you aren't a gamer or need some "real" power, these are great. i just use mine for day to day tasks: email, photo editing, an occasional final cut video edit (some expensive computers can't even handle the processing), maybe a movie, and office work; it doesn't hesitate at all. bang for your buck, this is the best computer for folks who just wants to use a computer without it making weird noises and turns on immediately.

Community Reviews

The M4 Mac mini stands out as a compact, fast desktop for everyday work, photo editing, light Final Cut use, and even Windows 11 virtualization through VMWare Fusion. The new Apple chips are praised for quick startup, quiet operation, and solid reliability, and storage can be expanded with a Thunderbolt 4 SSD enclosure or external drive. The main drawback is Apple's steep upgrade pricing for RAM and storage, which makes the base configuration feel tight. A lower Micro Center price and lower taxes could improve the value.

$187 for 256gb storage increase?

$204 for 8gb of ram increase?

How do the kids say it, "major yikes"?

Is the specs any good as lowest cost of entry? My MacBook Air from 2015 is no good and I need to get a new one. I do not care for portability and I'm already in the Apple ecosystem. Thought?

I see. Pretty much I need something to back up my iOS data from previous iPhone ie photos and video that stored to cloud and my aging MacBook. I mainly use window laptop as a dedicated pc but it is useless for my iphone backup, photos and videos download to PC from iCloud and such. I hope that this Mac mini can solve my needs, with the help ofPartition external mechanical 4TB hard drive.

I just made my final interest-free payment on my M4 Mini I bought a year ago. It has been a great machine so far. Storage concerns are easily mitigated with a TB4-connected SSD enclosure.
