Same here. It was hard to spend 500 bucks when you're not someone who buys a lot of crap from target. Because most of the time, the one you want to buy is way cheaper elsewhere.

Chase gives 5% cb with Paypal even buying gift cards? Might consider if so.

Only thing I buy at Target is Bounty paper towels when they have deals like 15.00 gift card with purchase and then get the P&G rebate.

Not the credit card. PayPal also has a debit card that gives cash back. You select a 5% cash back category every month. Their grocery category is very broad.They also have a restaurant category for folks who eat out a lot.

Sometimes I stack my gift card balance with Target Bonus incentives on pet care. My Purina Rewards also occasionally issues $5 coupon on food and a $5 Target GC rebate for submitting a Target receipt.

Target regularly puts Purina on Target bonus for 20% off and I have stacked this 10% GC + 20% bonus offer + $5 coupon + $5 GC rebate.

On a $75 purchase that works out to about $45+ tax (40% off) after all offers and rebate.

Be careful that the Target GC doesn't get drained if you have them sitting in your drawer too long. I had 2 Target GCs before that were drained by scammers before I could use them. Target did not investigate or replace the funds. Those were physical GCa years ago -- I think Target has boosted their packaging to try to cut down on scammers. But I only buy eGCs now which I assume are safer. If those GCs are drained, then it's an inside job (possible too).
OH, you can load them into yur Target acct I guess. That will safeguard the value. But then you can't give them to other people as gifts down the line. It becomes like store credit you have to login to your Target acct to use.
