Great deal! I have at least 5 different drivers from Makita, Rigid and Skil and the M12 Surge is my go to unless it's something really heavy duty then I grab the Makita.

For anyone not familiar, make sure hydraulic is what you want before ordering this.

Been waiting for this. If you work indoors or care about you're hearing the m12 and m18 surge are a godsend. I can't go back to regular impact drivers now.

This is a good deal for $99 w/ battery and charger. Have this same M12 Surge impact driver that came in a bundle with a case, battery, charger, and a 3/8 ratchet (non-fuel) from the summer for $159. The difference between the hydraulic driver vs their standard Fuel impact driver is smoothness and noise. For most DIY this Surge hydraulic driver is good to have, plenty fast and torquey. It snapped a few 10mm bolts on my car.

Yep. Love my M12 Surge, but M12 gen 2 ought to be coming fairly soon here, on the heels of the M18 gen 2 (with tri-LED lighting)

These guys did a comparison between the std. impact and surge versions
https://www.protoolreviews.com/mi...ct-driver/

From the article:
"FINAL VERDICT

In this Milwaukee M12 Fuel Surge Vs Milwaukee M12 Fuel Surge Pro Tool Reviews Thursday Throwdown, the impact driver comes away with the overall win, 4–2 with 5 ties. These two are very close to each other, but the two areas that the Surge wins might be the tipping points in its favor despite the score.
Buy the Milwaukee M12 Fuel Surge if you want the best power and lowest noise of any 12V impact driver.
Buy the Milwaukee M12 Fuel Impact Driver if you prioritize a lower price, faster driving speed, and lower weight.
The bottom line is that both of these are incredible performers in the 12V class and the right answer might just be that you need both!"

Seems like a decent comparison other than the conclusion of "the right answer might just be that you need both!".
I'm sure Milwaukee likes that answer though, but I imagine one or the other will be fine for most uses.

I have the non-surge fuel m12 (3453-20). Been very happy with it and use it and for most things over the m18 impact which honestly hardly use anymore, instead if needing something beefier using a 1/2 inch Ryobi 18v impact.
On the M12 Fuel, I find it more comfortable, portable, and more ergonomic shape. Was great as a lighter compact tool on the roof putting up standing seam metal roofing.
