Just a heads up for anyone purchasing this. The half frame format will have you shooting in a portrait orientation when the camera is horizontal. If you look at the viewfinder you can get a sense of the frame lines.

It's based on half frame cameras like the Olympus pen or Canon Demi that shot on a half frame of 35mm film. You would get 72 shots on a 36 frame cassette at the expense of resolution and enlarging capacity.

if I don't know anything about digital cameras, I will probably be thinking.... so, this is a "half premium" camera? Is it any good if it's only "half" premium? why not spend a little more and buy a 100% premium camera!
Don't buy this. It's like barely quarter premium. Not even worth this price. I'd buy this if it was $300. Its a luxury toy

This is still quite overpriced given the pic quality is no better than a dash cam. It's ok to get one just keep in mind you're buying a toy camera

take your money and put it towards a xm5 or xt30. They'll go a lot further than this thing

Basically it made sense during film days to save cost, but doing it now gives you absolutely no benefits whatsoever.

That's like adding a separate light meter to modern camera and use that reading for ISO adjustment.... Totally pointless

This is what happens when nostalgia wins out over technology.
