ProtonDB lists this Armored Core game with a Steam Deck compatibility rating of:
"Platinum"

? Some in-game text is small and may be difficult to read

+ All functionality is accessible when using the default controller configuration

+ This game shows Steam Deck controller icons

+ This game's default graphics configuration performs well on Steam Deck

This is great, sounds like you can just have a great experience without tweaking things. Get straight into the game faster!

Still, it probably runs better on PlayStation 5 if you have one, giving you better graphics and framerate while also putting the load on the console (or other desktop PC) greatly extends the Deck's battery runtime. Since I set up Chiaki4Deck (and optimized my WiFi, no mesh network), my eyes were opened to just how smooth and good a local streamed gaming setup can be! The X86 architecture of the Deck actually achieves lower network latency than the Portal, Android, or iOS, especially the OLED Deck with WiFi 6. I played Helldivers 2 exclusively this way for the first 3 weeks I had it, and it was a great experience with the Deck's rear buttons (dive and aim simultaneously), the default gyro aiming addition was really nice and mouse-like, the right trackpad ended up being more ergonomic for marking the Map than on the DualSense, and I didn't try it but there's nothing stopping you from programming a macro to pull off complicated Stratagem combos with just the press of a button (or a radial menu set to the left trackpad). I'd love to hear any replies if you think any of these features could enhance Fires of Rubicon here.

That said, I think Lossless Framegen is also discounted right now, I'm going to look into that next because sometimes you just don't have a network available, and I've read many times that using just the 2x frame gen setting can be a big help if the game plays at least with a solid 30FPS without it.

Very fun but hard game. Which isn't surprising given it's From Software (same devs that did Dark Souls / Elden rings)

Good game. Runs fine of steam deck. Had it hooked up to TV with a different controller and played great. Me and my buddy took turns and ended up beating it over a few weekends. Would recommend.
