Note that this won't run if you are using Windows 10.
You can file online with Intuit but it's much more expensive.

Holding out for the amazon deal. They usually have it right after Christmas. However, for 2025 the deal wasn't live until January 18.

Just curious: why hold off? Does the in-product credit not work for you? In my case I have to file state taxes which has a ~$20 fee which the $10 credit would go towards to.
I guess it's good deal for the folks who want the $10 credit towards turbo tax. I prefer the $10 amazon credit as I buy from Amazon more frequently.

Understood. Used to file state by mail, but don't have confidence return will arrive, or arrive in time even if mailed early. I let this commie state get its pound of flesh electronically Wink.

Not much of an amazon shopper any more. They peddle too much chinese junk and you never know what you're getting until it's in hand. Paid $100 for a simple lamp few weeks ago, it arrived with the base all scratched up. Box was perfectly intact. Home depot had the same lamp at slightly higher price.

I always get this from Costco, thanks for the $10 savings!
Yeah, me too... because I keep waiting for the "better deal," almost run out of time to file, and end up heading to Costco hoping it's still on sale there.

Costco has a sale in Jan. Why is there a sale now? All the turbotaxes have $10 off now. Is this the same as Jan sale ?

Amazon has this for the same price right now (without the 10 dollar credit, I think...). Is there a better deal that usually comes later?
Last time, January 18, 2025 $34.99. $44.99 + $10 Amazon GC, for $44.99.

I knew that comment would trigger someone. It's ok.

We've really cut down our amazon use in the last few years. Prices not overly competitive either. I understand the convenience aspect, especially with 2-3 day (or same day) shipping. These days they will be the last option considered.

My biggest gripe with them is product commingling. Supposedly that's coming to an end but the damage has been done.

There wasn't Christmas sale last year, but the premier price was $65 ($18 off) in January ($73 now).
It's worth to wait for another while for the additional $8 discount.

It is not a good deal for NY (and a few other states) because the state prohibits turbotax from charging for efiling. It is a deal for other states whether it is a $10 in-product credit or $10 AMZ gift card.

But the upgrade fee will typically be more expensive. Deluxe is sufficient for people with stock investments. It can import all the tax records from most financial institutions.
I had hard time last time filing my taxes to Deluxe with stock investment. Wondering if it works well with Crypto? I had to upgrade it paying more. There deluxe with Desktop and online version I guess are different. Last time I bought it from Sams the Deluxe Desktop and then went ahead upgrading with premier-online.

Yeah... bastards! At least they sent out at least 2 emails warning about Windows 10 no longer being supported. Guess I'll just have to use my downgraded Windows 11 machine to run it.

Intuit charge $20 to file state, but it's free if you print it and send it by post.

Nope, since they decided for no realistic reason to not run on Windows 10, I am DONE with them.

It is not up to TurboTax to enforce Microsoft's desire for people to move up to Windows 11. Screw them.

Trash. Forcing users to downgrade to Windows 11 and not allowing us to keep Windows 10. Way to kill your customer base.

Been using TurboTax for the last 5 years. Time to find a new software program.
