Great deal. A few notable things about this headphone:

ANC is okay, but nowhere near Bose/Sony level.
Has 5-band graphic EQ in the app
Wired USB mode works for both audio + microphone.

Microphone hits 32kHz sample rate over USB, and it sounds decent enough that I'd consider using it for gaming.

Switching devices through the smartphone app is good.

Phone app can connect to Px7 S3 over Bluetooth Low Energy, so it doesn't need to be connected to audio to change settings or switch connected devices.

Stock sound is bass-boosted, but IMO pleasantly done.
B&W have talked about Spatial Audio + LE Audio in future updates (but based on consumer demand)

This isn't guaranteed, so don't buy based on this information.
For me, if LE Audio does come out, it could make it a good versatile wireless headset for those who also want to use it for gaming.

The ANC really is not very good. If you've had the Bose or Sony or even anker you'll be frustrated when you get all the pass-through noise on the flight.

If anc is worse and sound quality doesn't stand out and is more expensive then Bose/sony, is it just the brand then

I got these on the previous deal and I have to say the sound is really good HOWEVER it is an amplified headphone so everything gets really loud at high volumes and while testing the pair I received by pushing the bass on the eq and volume to max I got distortion cracking from the headphones on certain bass notes. It only occured at that setting though and bringing everything down a couple notches smoothed everything loud.

Those who compare the noise canceling to others you are not buying these for that purpose. Your buying these for the brand name in audio, the sound quality, and the fit and finish of the product. You're not taking these to the gun range. If you're listening to music on these trust me the sound will definitely drown out a bay crying in an airplane easily. Why spend $400 on a pair of earplugs? The sound on these are great and I can't find myself needing anything else after these for a longtime. Especially since I also own the APP3s.

I got these and the px8, the px8 are better and are $400 refurbished on the bowers wilkins site, I ended up returning the px7 s3.

But for the $287 this is a great deal on the px7 s3. If all you care about is anc then yes get sony or bose. I do not travel with headphones, my headphones are for working at my computer, I use earbuds for everything else(currently the APP3)

I was using sony xm4 for the past 5 years, the build of sony headphones is cheap compared to bowers, the sound quality of bowers is better as well but that can be 'subjective' if what you want is loud bass. If I were on a budget and wanted best sound quality great build quality, and some good ANC the I would get the px7 s3 in the <$400 category. If you want great ANC and good sound and okay build quality then the sony xm6.

The sound quality is amazing, but everything else is just ok. Specifically the ANC, comfort, transparency mode, are all just 'ok'. If you have a big head, I do not recommend these as the clamping force is really tight compared to other headphones.

This is my experience as well compared to the Bose QC ultra gen 2. I'm probably going to keep the px7 s3 since ANC is not that important to me.

Momentum 4 is not Sony but that is more comparable to the S2 which is $150 refurb at B&W. Has better NR than B&W.

senn oops. got both to test, skeptical of the like new though, will be careful and can return. and senn has better noise reduction youre saying? and these px3 are a clear step up in sound, where px2 would be closer to senn sound? i have APP3 and bose qc, and want a higher quality sound option.
