This 24TB BarraCuda is drawing attention for its very low cost per terabyte and strong value on paper, especially for bulk storage or RAID setups. The price has been called tempting enough to justify extra testing, and the drive is seen as roughly half the price of higher tier options. The main concern is reliability, with repeated reports of DOA units, clicking drives, and early failures, plus a two year warranty that feels short for a large hard drive. It looks best suited to light use after thorough testing.

Barracuda has devolved to become Seagate's version of WD's Blue drive line. In short, good for light use, but won't hold up over the long term. The fact that they warrant the drives for only two years is an indication of the construction quality and also is reflective of how long Seagate expects them to last.
