I got one of these earlier in the year for over $20 on Amazon. What drew me to it over others was the 24xN55 magnets, and the reviews that said that those magnets, as well as the suction on the other side, were strong. They weren't lying. The suction cup uses a vacuum to remove air, which strongly seals the stand to the window. (Occasionally, there are problems when there is condensation on the windows.) But the magnet on the holder is very strong at holding the phone in place. It can be a bit awkward at times, getting it maneuvered into the right angle so that you can see it without falling off (especially on my cross-country vacation this year, with 12 different rental cars!) But once you find that angle, it's solid.
I'm so happy with mine that I'm buying this at this price to have a backup in case I accidentally leave mine behind in a rental car.
