I'm an insurance adjuster and have had this ladder for 4 years. I use it 4-8 times a day. Contractors always ask me how much I paid for it and the ones with gorillas always tell me they wish they would have paid a little more for the Little Giant.
This ladder is one of the best purchases I've ever made and I paid 250 for it back then. 175 is a no brainer. BUY THIS LADDER!
This 22 foot Little Giant telescoping multi position ladder stands out for reach, versatility, and a sturdy 300 pound rating. The 17 foot version with wheels and leveling legs is described as especially versatile, and the 22 foot model is praised as a go to ladder for bigger jobs and extra reach. The main drawbacks are weight and handling, since it is hard to move, awkward to stand up fully extended, and the steps can feel thin on some units. A few reports also mention weld or stress crack failures after heavy use, so it is a strong fit when reach matters more than portability.
Homeowners needing one ladder for attic access, roof work, and A-frame use, because it is versatile and stable when not fully extended flat.
The Little Giant is often preferred over the Gorilla 22-ft by owners who have used both, with some saying the Gorilla version does not work as well. The Gorilla can still be a reasonable alternative, but the Little Giant is repeatedly described as the better all-around ladder.
The Home Depot MPX version costs about $15 more but adds a top platform for A-frame use, tool-hanging unlock knobs, metal extension locks, and more visible yellow feet. The Little Giant is cheaper here, while the MPX is the pick if those extras matter more than price.
It has been used comfortably by users around 290-315 lbs, with no issue on the steps, and long-term owners describe it as stable and rock solid. A separate report says a 300-lb-rated unit failed after heavy fully-extended use, so it should be used within its rating and common-sense limits.
At 38 lbs, it can feel heavy and cumbersome for one person to move and maneuver safely, especially when standing it up fully extended. It is easier to use as an A-frame or when you do not need to fully extend it flat.
Yes. Fully extended, it can be tricky to stand up because the center of gravity can pass behind you and make it tip back, and taking it down can also be dangerous if done carelessly. It is safer to raise it in stages or use a proper take-down method.
Anyone has experience with this one? How does it compare to the 22 ft. Reach Aluminum Multi-Position Ladder w/ Project Bucket, Tool Hangers, 300 lbs. Load Capacity, Type 1A Duty Rating from Home Depot which is on sale at $189?
Have the 17 version with wheels and leveling legs. Well worth it. However, European markets have the Conquest 2.0 Pro and that's annoying af. Other than the gorilla ladder built in platform deck, it's the best all around ladder.
Pulled the trigger as I needed a bigger ladder than the 6ft at home. Figure this is the only ladder that I'll ever need to buy. I would have preferred the MagaLite+ pro bundle directly from Little Giant Ladders for $239, but shipping kills the deal ($90!).

Agree , I also have the 17 version with wheels and leveling legs which I bought several years ago on a BF deal and its has been the best most versatile ladder I have ever owned. That's why I went and bought this one yesterday as I needed a little more reach at times. GF bought the Gorilla version a couple years ago and I don't think it works as well as this personally

Good price, however at 38 lbs, it maybe too heavy and cumbersome to be safely moved and maneuvered by one person. Are there lighter alternatives?
You get this size ladder only when a smaller version will not work for your task, absolutely no other reason. It is heavy and it is very tricky to stand up to a roof when it is fully extended. Unless you are really tall (just a guess but more then 6'5 with a long arm span), as you are walking it up, you can't get your arms high enough and you will pass the center of gravity of the ladder before getting it beyond 45 degrees up and it will tip back down behind you. Might not make sense but will the first time you try to stand it up fully extended. You can stand the ladder up and clumsily raise the top portion that way or put it up against the house at the bottom and walk it up and then walk it out but it can get unwieldy. I still have an old school extension ladder for this reason which is dead simple to fully extended and it is much lighter. You won't have that issue if using it just as an A frame ladder or do not need to fully extend it flat.
I have 2 Werner versions of these and they are even heavier. 22ft @47lbs and the 14ft @23lbs. Top quality stable and rock solid ladders, but heavy.

Is this better than the gorilla 22ft. I feel like LilG is over priced @ regular price

I don't like mine. Versatile so I won't get replace it, but heavy and most of the steps are very thin/uncomfortable. I would rather have 2 ladders.
I have fluctuated between 290-315 lbs for the 4 years I've owned this ladder. Add clothes and a huge tool belt and my 325 lb ass has gone up and down these steps thousands and thousands of times. I never felt uncomfortable. The steps aren't thin

I'm a generic construction worker and I've used this said ladder for 80 years. Contractors always ask me how much I paid for it and then deeply yearn for it. They wish they had paid a little more and gotten this instead of Lil G.
