Lots of 1 star reviews saying this thing stops charging within 3-6 months and is very hot to the touch.

Tear downs show quality still matters on this stuff.

Beyond the safety aspect, dirty power stresses components in your much more expensive device instead, never good.

The really bad ones put weights inside to hide just how corner cut some fakes can be.

Right! I wouldn't spend $8 on a risky charger for a $2200 Macbook Pro. It's like spending $3 for a phone case on a $1200 Iphone.

Their rating seems fake. I was about to get this as this price for 100W+ charger would be good but... do the math that their MAX output is 20.5V at 4.7A = 96W. There is no way it can do 118W based on their own specs.

Strongly advise: If you don't understand the specification below which they give then do not connect to ANY of your devices:
Output: 20.5V/4.7A, 15V/3A, 12V/3A, 9V/3A, 5.2V/3A

There is no protocol specified to meet the requirements of modern smart phones. It does not appear to even have Qualcomm QC 3 a standard in use for 10 years by a majority of inexpensive USB devices, You can drastically shorten the life of your battery or damage your device with over-voltage over-current.

Ad copy translation: "Want the highest advertised watts for the cheapest price? We hear you! Confused by tech jargon? No worries we've hired a marketing team which specializes in writing gibberish because, as our valued customer, we understand the importance of telling you what you want to hear. Hurry and buy now before the word gets around and we shut this brand down to open our doors under a new name.

Yep I had one and it died within a month, right after the return window closed too. The reviews dont lie. You want gan charger for higher watts or whatever the name it was lol

I'm pretty sure the mods removed my wiki where I highlighted the bad reviews and safety risk.

It wasn't removed, but wikis are unfortunately not visible on every view of the site. They are kind of old-school already so I'm not sure if they will be added.

Or, to put it differently, should a basic piece of electronic kit like this, really cost more than $8? Or are we getting ripped off paying $50 for a flippin' wall wart?
The answer is probably in between, but this is definitely too low to trust for an over 100 watt charger.
