Taxes for me is $46.25 .. it might be worth buying $600 GCs instead of $500.
Logic:
$500 GC but then you pay $46.25 in cash.

Alternate:
$600 GC then you have leftover balance of $53.75

Difference:
You paid $80 in cash instead of $46.25 but that extra $33.75 got you $53.75 in balance.

That may be great deal for a lot of people.

Here's a couple of "hacks" to save some additional money when using Nintendo GCs for eShop games.

1. While in the eShop, click on your profile settings and change your billing zip code to a state with no sales tax. I just use a random zip code from Montana. Nintendo only goes off of that zip code when you use your available eShop balance to purchase games.

2. Nintendo game vouchers can still be purchased until the end of January and can be used on some new releases like Metroid Prime 4 and Pokemon Legends Z-A.

For example, the Switch 2 version of Metroid Prime 4 is normally $69.99. However, by using this Costco GC deal, you could get a two-pack of game vouchers on the eShop for basically $80. You can redeem one of those vouchers for the Switch 1 version of Metroid Prime, meaning you're getting the base game for $40. Then you can buy the upgrade pack separately for $9.99. So you'd have the Switch 2 version of Metroid Prime for $49.99, a savings of $20.

You can also use vouchers in a similar manner for good savings on older titles with Switch 2 versions. For example, the Switch 2 version of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is normally $79.99. However, using this Costco GC deal, you can use a a voucher to get the base version of the game for $40, and then buy the the upgrade pack separately for $9.99, for a total of $49.99 and a $30 savings.

Probably anti-scam verification. Gift cards seem to get scrutinized more than other purchases.

Thanks, I'd rather get it from Sam's Club. Costco doesn't let me use my 5% back Mastercard.

Looks like it fixed itself. I was able to order the GC from Costco, got them delivered in 2 mins and had my Switch 2 ordered just as fast. Thanks OP

Man.. I was really thinking of this.. but even at $100 off, I wish this came with Donkey Kong Bonanza instead of Mario Kart World. The only game so far is truly exclusive is DK Bonanza. Mario Kart World just doesn't look that interesting from what I have seen so far. Metroid 4 Prime is next week, but is also available for the current switch (albeit with less FPS and resolution), and we don't even know if will be well reviewed or not yet. I am gonna pass this time I think until there is a better exclusive library, however I think it is a decent deal for people that do not yet have a previous switch at all. I guess I could also get the plain jane Switch 2 alone but even then I think I will wait until there are more true Switch 2 exclusives for me.

Why are you all supporting Nintendo with their $80 game remakes and predatory tactics? What can the Switch 2 do that the Switch OLED can't?

4k docked, 1080p handheld, & 60fps
... Which is why I agree with you. That's an underwhelming upgrade proposition without a solid Switch 2 library to pick from.

- Play Mario Kart World, DK Bananza (though that game is the worst Nintendo developed title I've ever played and I do not know what the world is smoking), Hyrule Warriors Age of Imprisonment, Kirby Air Riders

- Provide online chat with friends

- Play more demanding 3rd party titles on featured on Switch

- Bigger screen

- Access to Gamecube on NSO

- Visual upgrades and performance to legacy Switch hardware

If the market supports their decisions, they will persist. And if it is consistent enough that bleeding heart defenders of video games continue to cry fowl over something so unimportant in the grand scheme of things, maybe the message is ineffective and attention can be directed to things of actual importance?

Everyone I know who complains about this just steals their Nintendo games by emulating, and there is no reality in which they will ever pay for them regardless. It is real broke guy energy.

If that is not you, great, but there tends to be a correlation.

Hate Nintendo, but then do not go on and steal it because you think you're Robinhood.

To play Switch 2 games? I am a big fan of Xenoblade and Fire Emblem, and since those games (and other first-party games) will never come to PC, I will eventually get a Switch 2. And given Nintendo almost never discounts their console price, it's not a bad time to just get the console now.

Aw man. For me it's been four hours and still nothing.

Just got off the chat with support. They said there's a system wide issue with processing some egift cards, and they'll only get to those when the order team comes in which isn't till 7 am pst.
