Is it risky to wait until 12/1 to buy the gift cards from Costco? Do they normally sell out fast?
If I had to do it over again I'd pay $25 for a Sam's Club membership and just walk in there and buy the physical cards

How long does the credit stay in your Nintendo account after redeeming? Might just max it out and use it for when new games get released

My order from 9am EST has not been processed still. I am on chat, no issue with address, name, etc., just "high volume delay" which sounds like bullshit given all the other reports of instant arrival since.

Bought a membership only to have first and second order cancelled cuz their system sucks. Chatted with someone immediately after placing the second order so it wouldn't be cancelled and then as they were verifying my cell 6 times because they kept sending two security codes at a time the second order got cancelled. Said I could make a new order which doesn't have the discount because the system thinks I'm at the 10 account limit and hope it goes through then contact them again for the discount.

After chatting with them I go out to find someone hit my new cars door denting it. It's just not my day.

I'm not sure if there it can be compared easily with prior sales. I think the last sale was just Cyber Monday last year. Since then the limit on credit was increased to $800 and it can be used to buy physical stuff online now.

I think the sale at Sam's Club, which started a day earlier, is still in stock online.

Sidenote: went back to Costco.com to purchase another set of $25/4 count cards ($100 value) to apply towards another set of controllers but Costco cancelled that order because "Quantity limits on item exceeded". Which is weird because I only previously ordered one set? Will try to purchase those gift cards again tomorrow.
I think just one order per SKU every 14 days is permitted. So, they'll probably reject any additional orders for the same item for the next two weeks. If you didn't order the other SKU ($50 X 4), then you have one more order that can be placed.

Otherwise, you may want to go to a physical warehouse to buy them.

It shouldn't expire. I plan to spend enough so that I can redeem all my codes this weekend.

I placed my order at 9:15 PST and still haven't received the gift cards. Did a chat with Costco, and it can take 24 hours to get the codes because of the holiday.

Taxes for me is $46.25 .. it might be worth buying $600 GCs instead of $500.
Logic:
$500 GC but then you pay $46.25 in cash.

Alternate:
$600 GC then you have leftover balance of $53.75

Difference:
You paid $80 in cash instead of $46.25 but that extra $33.75 got you $53.75 in balance.

That may be great deal for a lot of people.
A little extra credit might be a good deal since Nintendo eShop has some black Friday weekend deals for downloadable games as well

I waited about 6 hours. Chatted costco, took about 20 minutes, and I had the codes minutes later. Was easily able to buy the bundle through nintendo.
This worked for me too. They "released" the order.
