Taxes for me is $46.25 .. it might be worth buying $600 GCs instead of $500.
Logic:
$500 GC but then you pay $46.25 in cash.

Alternate:
$600 GC then you have leftover balance of $53.75

Difference:
You paid $80 in cash instead of $46.25 but that extra $33.75 got you $53.75 in balance.

That may be great deal for a lot of people.

Here's a couple of "hacks" to save some additional money when using Nintendo GCs for eShop games.

1. While in the eShop, click on your profile settings and change your billing zip code to a state with no sales tax. I just use a random zip code from Montana. Nintendo only goes off of that zip code when you use your available eShop balance to purchase games.

2. Nintendo game vouchers can still be purchased until the end of January and can be used on some new releases like Metroid Prime 4 and Pokemon Legends Z-A.

For example, the Switch 2 version of Metroid Prime 4 is normally $69.99. However, by using this Costco GC deal, you could get a two-pack of game vouchers on the eShop for basically $80. You can redeem one of those vouchers for the Switch 1 version of Metroid Prime, meaning you're getting the base game for $40. Then you can buy the upgrade pack separately for $9.99. So you'd have the Switch 2 version of Metroid Prime for $49.99, a savings of $20.

You can also use vouchers in a similar manner for good savings on older titles with Switch 2 versions. For example, the Switch 2 version of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is normally $79.99. However, using this Costco GC deal, you can use a a voucher to get the base version of the game for $40, and then buy the the upgrade pack separately for $9.99, for a total of $49.99 and a $30 savings.

After a cancellation, reorder, and 2 failed chats, I broke down and called Costco just now. I was informed their entire customer information system is down, so they can't process/confirm anything right now. Not great. I was told to call back in 30 minutes as IT would be giving them an update.

I told her I was calling about the Nintendo gift cards and she just chuckled. Apparently they are slammed

Try disabling ad blockers and Ghostery or anything else that might impact what you see on the screen or try another browser. I had ~$7 in my account from previous GCs and had no problem.
Turned out to be an issue/glitch on Android mobile. I tried on my desktop when I got home and had no issues at all being able to apply eShop credits.

Went back and tried on Android with desktop mode, and still nothing.

I successfully placed the order but never got the codes. I went through Costco chat and they said their whole order management system was down.

it's 90 for 100, 10 off is 80 for 100, so you're getting the deal

Mine got cancelled and the CS rep told me it's because the payment name doesn't match the membership name which is BS cause my separate $100 order went through fine

If anyone still looking for a switch 2, you can try bestbuy through uber eats/door dash since Costco has/had the $75 for $100 Uber eats cards

So disappointed in Costco's inability to process these orders.
After my first order didn't go through within 2 hours, I called them. They did their whole OTP verification and assured me it would go through within another 2 hours. Didn't happen. Called them a 2nd time and assured me it would go through within 24 hr.
Instead my order got cancelled. Called them a 3rd time. They did another round of OTP and assured me that if I place the order again it will go through immediately.
Guess what? 6 hours after placing the 2nd order nothing. Called them a FOURTH time only to be told that that dept is closed.
At this point they seem to be running out the clock on this sale as it expires Dec. 1. Total BS.

I finally got it to go through. It kept getting canceled. This is buying the Nintendo gift cards.
I was trying to use a friend of mines account. I changed everything over to me. But every ordered canceled. It happened via email and about 5 to 10 minutes after submitting the order.
I just went and purchased a Costco account on Groupon. Did another order and it has been 2 hours and not been canceled. No gift cards yet but I am pretty confident that we will not get a cancel from Costco.
Just wanted to provide a data point if anyone is trying to use a friends or family members account to get this deal.
BTW, I had already done the same deal at Sam's Club for a Switch for one of my kids. This one is for me. So thanks to SD going to get two Switches on a pretty good deal.

I already had some Nintendo eShop funds remaining in my account and they don't show up to be used in the cart when the Switch 2 is added. Are these eShop gift cards from Costco viewed as different from that? I don't want to go add a bunch of these gift cards and find out it won't get applied to the Switch 2 purchase from Nintendo.
** Nevermind - I did see where it could be applied as the last step in the order process!

Didn't pull the trigger with the sams deal and now Costco is tempting me Getting this discount on the console would be great but I just know Nintendo will drop a new model in a few years and I'll definitely want to get that instead.
Few years?

Do you pay tax on purchase of gift card or on purchase from Nintendo? hopefully not both?
