Have the OG of the high efficiency washer (non impeller version with buttons instead of a knob) with stupid level of hard water and the only thing I've had to do in 13 years of ownership is soak the pump (easily accessed in the back) in vinegar once a few yrs ago, and package taped over a button that wore down to keep it dry from ACTIVE family use and weekly sheet washing (doubly so as my version not having the impeller causes it to go off balance quite frequently which then fills it back up with water... Can take forever if I don't hear it )
I've also had to epoxy/insta steel over one of the dryer fins that was wobbling a year ago. Not bad for an LG pair that was ~700 at home Depot. With 13 years of price increases I absolutely would not hesitate to buy this pair if I was moving somewhere and needed an electric set. Doubly so with impeller! 💜
Lol, you think more than 2-3x the price is "a bit more expensive"? I'm not saying they're not worth it, but I am saying your logic is tragically flawed.
For anyone looking for new washer/dryers I highly recommend Speed Queen. They're a bit more expensive, but they're the only brand I found that's not built to intentionally fail after several years.

Very tempted by this deal. My LG set that looks just like this one except maybe a little more basic is 12 years old and has never given me a day of trouble, but it is 12 years old...
I've been saying the same thing about replacing my HVAC for the past 16 years. It is now 34 years old and still runs perfectly. The money I didn't spend back then in my investments is probably up about 8x in value since then.
You asked for the link first of something that you didn't even know existed and then you're upset that I provided it as an option for other people that might be eligible?
Not upset, just figured if someone was going to sway ppl to not buy this, I would hope they could provide the better alternative. That's all! I'm sure we'd all appreciate it when people find better deals than the posted ones.Didn't want to come off combative.
They always get an extra $100.00+ for a gas dryer. It's worth it, because I bought a LG set just like this and it was $899.00 at Howards (CA appliance chain ) for the dryer alone, before rebate of $300 for both. Woo hoo. I wish I got a deal like this when I was looking.

I was able to get this deal with a gas dryer yesterday on Black Friday for no up-charge for the gas version. Washer was $405 and Gas Dryer was $405 after their discounts. Total was $810 before delivery and taxes. The deal is not as good today (Saturday).
I have laundry on my second floor and Gemini says it's better to stick with a front load as top load causes more vibration due to unbalancing of clothes. Has anybody else noticed it?
