This Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3x is a strong budget Windows on ARM laptop for everyday use, especially web browsing, email, Word, streaming, and other normal tasks. The Snapdragon X chip gets praised for staying cool, quiet, and efficient, with solid battery life, a touch screen, backlit keyboard, fingerprint reader, Wi Fi 7, and USB C charging alongside the included 65W barrel charger. The main caution is compatibility, since some legacy apps, printer drivers, games, and creator or business workflows may need ARM native versions or may not work well. It feels like a capable low cost pick if your software is already ARM friendly.

Excellent price. Ignore the idiots, compatibility problems are a thing of the past with regards to software that makes sense to try to run on a laptop.

Chrome, Firefox, Microsoft Office and Whatsapp have ARM64 native versions now.
https://armrepo.ver.lt/

I don't use CCleaner, but this changelog says as of version CCleaner v7.0.984 ARM64 is officially supported:
https://www.ccleaner.com/knowledg...r-v7-0-984

I have a Snapdragon laptop I can verify the x64 versions of Anydesk and Team Viewer work fine, with no noticeable slow down (I recommend RustDesk though).

CCleaner is useless, garbage software that no one should use. Otherwise, you are spot on.

It is pure Windows, just Windows ARM, same feature set. In my case it meets the sweet spot of being speedy, light, not running hot and not blaring the fans with good battery life. No Intel/AMD could meet all those criteria.

Lol, so many people are so ignorant on Snapdragon X series.

A typical Geekbench 6 single-core score for a laptop Core i5 5 years ago would be a Tiger Lake processor, and score approximately 1,150-1,300, while the multi-core score ranges from approximately 4,000-5,000.

The Snapdragon x1-26-100 has a Geekbench 6 score of 2125 and multi-core of 10596.
and the Snapdragon Plus has a pretty good NPU to boot! Don't think Tiger Lake knows what an NPU is (granted, no one knows how to use an NPU yet).

A lot of software is written for AMD/Intel CISC - that software won't work. If it is written correctly (and not using Intel or AMD instructions), no problem. Lenovo has been doing ARM for a while. Watch out for security software more than other groups of software, since that is specific to OS - Lenovo has been working with Cisco, Norton, etc - to get these apps running since the OG Snapdragon came out (ThinkPad 13s, and now there is a higher end ThinkPad T14s Gen 6 Snapdragon edition with the X-Plus and X-Elite CPUs).

More ignorant misinformation.

95%+ of software written for AMD/Intel will work just fine under the PRISM emulator transparently. Recently they added AVX/AVX2 instruction support so even games that require those will work.

Lenovo has no control over apps running or not. It's up the Windows ARM Prism layer and the individual software developers. If an app dev makes something native for Windows ARM they make it native for all Windows ARM devices. Lenovo doesn't have some special flavor of Snapdragon all the other brands don't.

Plenty of security apps are native (Security & Protection section here):
https://armrepo.ver.lt/

I run a half dozen or so x64 apps, including heavy weights like SQL Server 2025 just fine.

The only things it can't emulate are at the driver level, so kernel level anti game cheats and printer drivers since those are at the kernel level.

Purchased mine. What a steal! Need to decide whether to keep this or the HP Omnibook 5. The HP is $70 more expensive now.
I just bought that HP from staples for 399, but now see this one and thinking about it. But like someone posted it is an older snapdragon processor.

To be exact... applications and programs do NOT need to understand the CPU's instruction set. It's the compilers job to translate code written in programming languages such as Java, C++, etc ... Into the instructions that the CPU will understand, i.e. x86 or ARM. Ideally, all app developers need to do is recompile their programs with the proper compiler.

And as folks have mentioned worst case the Prism emulator can help fill in the gap for applications compiled for x86 by basically implementing missing instructions into something ARM processors understand.
