What is the scrolling box on the portal page?
On the desktop page, each offer shows up in its own box, right? There are two boxes where different offers show up marquee-style. The first one has a "limited time event" tag and the second has a "featured offer" tag. When Lenovo shows up in the "featured offer" box for me, it has a 30% back offer. It may not be there for you, but my "regular" offers for Lenovo are all around 1-5%, and my wife's account also shows the 30% offer in that location.

Every gaming laptop in the history of laptops is meant to be plugged in. There has NEVER been one with a high powered top of the line gpu that last more than an hour or two unplugged. This argument is so tired and irrelevant
What argument? That you can make the gaming laptop actually last longer by turning down a couple of things? Get out of here troll.

It's meant to be plugged in so that you can get the power you're supposed to when gaming. If you're just browsing the web or watching movies, why is it bad to turn down the settings if you're wanting more battery life?

But please, tell me how long a desktop can last with it being unplugged from any power source....

You have to select 9955HX3D version to get 5080 card
I missed that somehow, but it comes out being over $300 more than the intel thats at $2000.

So I got my niece the intel 7 version, with 165 oled screen, 1tb, and rtx 5070, for $1500 including taxes

Is this intel 9 version with 240 oled screen, 2tb and rtx 5080 worth the extra $750?

She is a light gamer and plan to use it for her programming/ai courses/projects at college
Thoughts on suitability for academic/hobbyist AI work? I'm thinking it might work but not 100%

How does this compare to the Acer Predator Helios on ebay for $1234 with 4070 ti but also has OLED screen?

https://www.ebay.com/itm/277352801036

I know different tier but it is $500-$750+ price difference.

These are the two I'm comparing as well. Looks like Acer will be less powerful processor but more efficient and better battery life. And the 5080 is 20% improvement over 5070Ti.

That's what I found on Google

One of the most important things is that the build quality is better on the Lenovo.
Edit: also new vs refurbished. I'm generally very pro-refutbished, but even "certified refurbished" does not mean "like new" when buying from Acer's eBay store. I bought a certified refurbished Triton 17x from their store and it had scratches/scuffs in several places all over the chassis and lid (which I was ok with) but it also had multiple groups of dead pixels on the screen. I chatted with Acer about the dead pixels and they offered me a $40 partial refund to keep the laptop, but I opted to return it and then they opened a case against me saying the laptop when they received it wasn't in the same condition that it was when they sent it to m. So FYI, be wary about buying refurbished from them on eBay.

I want to buy this so bad. But the battery on all modern gaming laptops is just a sorry excuse. A true gaming mobile device doesn't really exist yet.
U wont be playing any gaming laptop without being plugged in.. its just to move from room to room...or be able to bring with u as u travel. I mean maybe u can play some old ass games for an hr or two but at that point buy a cheaper laptop and a desktop seperate...

Is there not a $1500 limit for paypal?
There is a higher limit on the monthly payment option and the TC's allow it for BNPL, there was a limit for the 4 pay no interest.

I'm just going to pay it off in 2-3 weeks before the first interest payment hits as there is no pre pay penalty.

hey trying to replicate. what is the tech partner discount? will try the monthly to take advantage of paypal cashback. Thanks in advanced
Tech partner was a business deal we had with lenovo I work at a tech company that does a lot with their server line and they give us an extra discount. Recommend just looking at your companies intranet or slack etc and seeing if you get a discount.

I definitely see the monthly as a pending reward so seems to work just fine and it spells it out in the T&Cs that it qualifies.

Is the 20% PayPal something different than the Pay 4 or just another way of paying for the same promotion?
The 20% is the pay later option, the problem with 4 pay is it is limited to $1500 I think, doing the monthly option ( which does have interest if you can't pay it off immediately ) is another pay later option with a higher limit.

Ultimately I should be getting this laptop for ~1550 or so .. 2000 - 200(cb) - 250 (pp) and the 8% (partner discount) and 1% (credit card) just wipes the tax in my area basically ( 9.5% )

Chat with Rep and he lowered to $1938.98 (he said that is the lowest price he can offer). Went ahead and place the order. Total $2140.58 (had to add a mouse pad filler to get the extra discount). $116 Lenovo reward pending, $194.04 pending reward from cash back site. Couldn't get the PayPal thing to work

Can you use each one once with the 20% or only one or the other?
