330 volt clamping
3400j
They have a beefier model that is flatter and has more plugs but it takes up a lot more space

They also have another model which has rotating plugs and I think it's like 2,800 joules but still has the 330 volt clamping and then half of the plugs can rotate

I think this model is The Sweet spot where it looks relatively thin. It does have bright lights on it but the joules is higher although it's not the absolute highest.

If you don't know, you need to research the key metrics for surge protectors which is clamping volts, which is at what point is it going to activate and then the joules tells you how much it can absorb before it dies which is a finite life. Generally speaking, the general recommendation is every 3 to 5 years

I'm not sure if I'm right, but I'm pretty sure I am stuff like this is the absolute bottom of the barrel price for the absolute best quality because if it doesn't advertise a 330 volt clamping then is probably 400v or 500v which is kind of useless like your components are going to be exposed to higher voltage that you would rather not cuz it's supposed to protect

Higher clamping voltage ratings are worse and they will protect against certain catastrophic outcomes. But they won't protect as well. So you're leaving yourself open to certain amounts. Just use AI to research. To be honest that's what I did and I bought a bunch lol

I already have the same thing except branded by Amazon years ago and I have three of the big fat flat power strips that are 4300 joules. Got each of them for 15 and the last one for $30. Stupid good since they're all UL certified for explosions which I believe is the 1448 or something like that... That's where they put a load onto it and see what happens when it gets exposed to something that will destroy it

Once you isolate for a 330 volt clamping essentially what you're doing is you want to get the highest joules while picking the unit that has the right plug compatibility for your situation. Some people will need to buy plugs that rotate because they have bulky plugs. But if you don't need it or you will fit on a standard amount and you won't run out, then just go with the more normal ones rather than the rotating ones since they have a penalty for the Joule based on the options, mono price has in their lineup

on the amazon listing it says that the clamping voltage is 500v, but on the monoprice listing it says the clamping voltage is 330v. so which is it!

I have no idea where you're getting that and I just scrolled through to three different sections

But I am primarily looking at the bottom section where it's comparing all of their different models they have and it shows 3:30 on this, both on their site and on Amazon here. So maybe I missed what you're looking at, but you could probably look up information on the UL certification. I wouldn't buy this if it's $500, but based on how it looks, I'm assuming it's 3:30. That's the better odds because it's consistent with how it seems they are designing and making decisions

Tell me where you see 500

Didn't answer the question fully because I still don't know how to help you answer your own question

Trying to find the same details gives me this and there's no reason to think it's 500 and there's more reason to think it's 330v based on what I'm seeing .

If you're right, I'm going to return the one that I bought and get a different model of theirs that is 330 volts

keep it, as it appears that google has the wrong information as it also says the joule rating is only 590 for the amazon listing. see attached picture..

Amazon is blocked off a lot of bots from accessing the item pages at least I learned this from Google Gemini. It has problems accessing things with any reliability to the point where I have to either screenshot it or just give it the complete title of what the item is so it's not even utilizing Amazon

I'm not surprised that what you see is somewhat similar in terms of a discrepancy because Amazon links are not reliable except as a link for you to click through, but not in terms of anything else it seems

Funny that this got a thumbs down because any other surge protector deal here that's shilled, it's probably a POS with clamping voltage that's higher...
