While not as good as the $1000 Costco deal for the IdeaPad Pro 5i, I think this is the next best deal on the IdeaPad Pro laptop for those don't care about the higher 32GB RAM. I personally believe 16GB soldered is pretty limiting and not future proof but I also know a lot of people that never had any issues with 16 GB. If you're that person and you missed the Costco deal, then this is for you.

The Ryzen chip in this one is also very efficient, probably a little bit more than the Ultra 9 in the Pro 5i. But it's possible that the performance on battery is throttled to achieve better battery life.

Here's the detailed configs from Lenovo PSREF for both the variants in case you want to compare:
Legion Pro 5 Ryzen AI 7 350 RTX 5050 16GB [lenovo.com] - 83JN0019US
Legion Pro 5i Ultra 9 285H RTX 5050 32GB [lenovo.com] - 83JM0019US

I care about the 32gb RAM. Given the RAM prices, the Costco deal was the best for all these laptop deals... AND THAT IS SAD.

This has OLED...If you care about 32gb look for that or learn to upgrade yourself. It's not even complicated.

Better deal. At least ram is upgradable down the line if ram price comes back down.

There's a few points why someone might want the IdeaPad instead. It's much thinner (0.65" vs 0.8+") and has a larger screen and better resolution. An all metal chassis. Even if the RAM is such a bottleneck (at least for me, might not be for everyone).

I've personally purchased both - the IdeaPad from Costco deal and the Legion 5 from Lenovo's site (Ryzen AI 7 350, 5060, 32GB, 1TB for about $1000, significantly better than the walmart deal imo) - I'll be deciding between these two. But I'm most likely to go with the IdeaPad.
