Bose QuietComfort headphones stand out for strong comfort and noise cancelling, with sound that feels close to the pricier Ultras and a lighter fit that works well for long wear. The bass has more punch than the Ultras, and the soft case version sold as QuietComfort SC is the same headphone with a different case. The main tradeoff is that some prefer Sony for durability, and the soft case may be less appealing than a hard case. Overall, this is a solid pick for quiet listening and everyday comfort.
Common Questions (5)
Yes. A PayPal Rewards offer can be activated if it appears in featured offers, and Amazon promos have dropped the price to $99.99, $80, or even $70 when stacked with targeted credits.
Yes. The QuietComfort SC sold by Costco and Sam's is the regular QuietComfort, with the only difference being the soft case. A hard case can be bought separately, reportedly for about $15 on eBay.
This price sits around the current Amazon $160 black-only price and below Costco's $170 SC version. It is also above earlier promos that dropped the headphones to about $112, $126 refurbished, or $160 with a $30 Amazon credit.
The comfort and ANC are described as excellent, with the headphones considered among the best ANC models. They are also noted as lighter than the Ultras, with stronger bass punch for some listeners.
Certified refurbished units come with a 1-year Bose warranty and can be more than 20% cheaper than this new price. Bose customer service is also cited as a reason the refurb option has limited downside.

Note: way too "quiet" for a person like me though. I don't mind noise vs a state of....no noise
