Yet here's a Lenovo with 16 GB RAM and a 256 GB SSD for $290, and it's got a better (i5) processor.
Again if an i3, and 8 GB RAM works for you, then by all means this is a nice deal, It's just that most I think would be looking to upgrade this laptop, and you can find better deals out there, and very likely on Cyber Monday.

It's hard to argue you can find a better deal than this for a new, 13-14" everyday laptop.
The only downside I found was no USB-c charging (one of those barrel connection chargers.)
Simple and cheap to upgrade the RAM (as noted above) and SSD. Perfect everyday laptop for most family members, No, this is not for heavy gaming or media editing. But for the price, this checks a lot of boxes for a lot of people,

Optimally both of those would be doubled in amount.
have the 15.6" version of this laptop on a triple monitor setup. use the HDMI for center monitor, then 2 USB display link adapters i had from 10 yrs ago for L and R monitors. alternatively, can just get a USB displaylink hub as well
again, most are not using these base model Vivobooks for this setup, but it can be done. if you're looking for a laptop that can support triple 4K monitor setup via DP-Alt mode from a USB-C thunderbolt port, then you need to be looking at something other than the $200 price range
Can we change it regular windows 11 for free?

with the price of memory and SSD's soaring, you have a good point. unless you have components sitting around from something else, it may be more cost effective to get something that already includes the sized components you need.
i recently checked out some 2x16GB memory pricing at Micro Center and was honestly shocked to see the price has more than doubled. i have a rig from a year or so ago where i put in 2x32GB for under $200. the same memory is now $680. it's insane
