24GB. There's 8 soldered and one free slot that will take up to 16GB. I've purchased two of these in the past for family members, upgraded RAM and SSD with stuff I have lying around, and they've loved this laptop for everyday use.

Here's where I struggle with a laptop like this--if you're going to use it "as is" then it's a sold deal. Yet if you're thinking "well, I can upgrade the RAM, and get a bigger hard drive then it'll be perfect"...well, let's say it costs $50 for RAM and $50 for a larger SSD. Now you're up to $300...

Yet here's a Lenovo with 16 GB RAM and a 256 GB SSD for $290, and it's got a better (i5) processor.

Again if an i3, and 8 GB RAM works for you, then by all means this is a nice deal, It's just that most I think would be looking to upgrade this laptop, and you can find better deals out there, and very likely on Cyber Monday.

Windows 11 S mode is a version of the operating system that restricts users to installing apps and programs only from the Microsoft Store for enhanced security and performance. This means users cannot install software downloaded from the internet or run apps from other sources, which also limits customization and certain hardware capabilities. It is often pre-installed on many devices, especially in the Windows 11 Home edition.

Switching out of S mode
One-way switch: You can permanently switch out of S mode at any time, but you cannot turn it back on.
No cost: The switch is free.
How to switch:
Open the Microsoft Store.
Search for the "Switch out of S mode" page.
Select the "Get" button.
Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the process.

This is the best processor at this price point and the ram and ssd are upgradable.
The main downside is the screen viewing angles are not good.

It's an IPS, not TN. So I'm sure the viewing angles are just fine. That problem arises in a TN panel.

I bought this a couple months ago from BB for $204 or $209 maybe.
It's hard to argue you can find a better deal than this for a new, 13-14" everyday laptop.
The only downside I found was no USB-c charging (one of those barrel connection chargers.)

Simple and cheap to upgrade the RAM (as noted above) and SSD. Perfect everyday laptop for most family members, No, this is not for heavy gaming or media editing. But for the price, this checks a lot of boxes for a lot of people,
