I'm not a doctor but used to get sore throat every winter before I started working from home. The sprays didn't do much for me because the effect was fast but short-lasting. I tried even a spray with lidocaine (I think?) for the worst cases and while it provided relief from excruciating pain, again, it just didn't last.

I found that of all the sore throat relief products only Halls drops with pectin actually help. They used to call Breezers but have been renamed. Look for "pectin" on the package. These and good ol' honey and rinsing with salty water honestly are the best remedies.
