I just got the credit and can confirm that it applies to products sold by Amazon, not digital content. The name "digital credit" is confusing. It should just be called a promotional credit. I was able to get $30 off of other items sold and shipped by Amazon.

If you want the other colors, this is also available on Costco for just $10 more.

PROS: More colors available- Costco has these in Black, Blue, White, and light Purple. Peace of Mind- You get super-easy returns and an extended warranty. Black and White are available in-store and online. Blue, lilac only available online.

CONS: Cost- $10 more at Costco, No $30 digital credit

On Costco the Black are the SC model (slightly better is my understanding) and the ones in different colors are SE model, so watch out for that wherever you are looking.

I wish they would be more specific. The definition of digital content is "any content that exists in the form of digital data" So technically you cant use the digital credits on anything.

How is the wear on these? I don't like these type of headphones because they make my ears get hot, but for this price I might bite.

Very comfortable! The ultras have more padding on the ears but these are maybe 10% less padded. It's very similar.
It's totally worth a shot. Especially if you go with Costco with their return policy. The only big difference with Costco is the hard case and digital credit but I know a buddy who bought a hard case on eBay for $12 instead and got them at Costco.
I can wear either the QC or QCU for many hours without issue and I'm a big guy so I do sweat a bit haha
