They will eventually paywall you out of your hardware when they decide to change their terms. Google it.
Plenty of other reputable companies for cameras.. eufy, unifi, etc. Take your pick, just not Arlo/Netgear.
It's pretty bad with Arlo all around. Hardware is very premium priced but with standard video quality that you can get from Eufy at a lower price point. Then you end up paying nearly $30 a month for features that come free with most other devices like storage and notifications (again, Eufy). I've also hard weird instances where they disconnect from my nighthawk mesh system and refuse to catch events for hours until restarted.
I have the Arlo Pro 5S for exterior and only keep it for the audio notifications through all of my Google home devices E.g., person at the front door or in the backyard. Otherwise I would not commit to their product line again. All of my interior cameras and two exterior are Eufy
