Yeah but the refresh rate is extremely slow for monitor use

At 720p resolution, that doesn't sound fun.

Hmmm Walmart has a TCL 32" 1080p for only $88. Might be the better buy

I wouldn't recommend it, as it appears to be only 720p. TVs in general also tend to not have monitor features (auto sleep / wake with PC), and with all TVs having "smart" features built in, you'll initially be bombarded with apps when you first turn it on, and have to manually change the input. The brightness on this TV also appears to be 190 nits, which isn't very bright. You might have better luck buying a used monitor locally if you're limited to $50.

Cheap. But as others have said, not full HD (not 1080p) so beware.

I concur. I used to sell TVs and other home theater gear. Westinghouse was considered bottom of the barrel in terms of quality. They had a high return and repair rate.

I currently have the Roku version of this TV wall mounted in my kitchen. My only gripes beside the resolution already mentioned, is the TV speakers suck. If I turn up the volume more than half way, I can hear the sound distort when bass is playing. Also Rokus Live TV Guide and Live TV app is irritating to work with if you watch OTA. I have used Xumo interface which is also pretty slow and crappy but works with Spectrum and its DVR features so it would save you money on a STB if you got Spectrum. I am about to replace it with the 32" Insignia FE 1080P LED Fire TV for $79.99. Figured the extra real estate, higher resolution and not having to use Rokus OTA Live TV app makes it worth it. If you're planning to use it as a monitor and your space allows it, I would get a 32" Full HD over the Westinghouse. 24" 720p is a good for streaming TV in tight places or transporting to use as a portable screen for cheap.

720p and probably a lot of input lag...technically it would work, but it depends on your definition of "usable"

Ugh. I'd rather have a thift store 1080p monitor (regularly ~$20 or less around me for decent ones) and a super cheap streaming stick then this Comcast OS 720p junk.

At 24" you might get away with it, would definately be a no if it was 32".

Lots of comments on monitor use, but can anyone comment on it as a tv? My kids both have non-smart tvs, thinking of replacing the 19" with this, and letting the one that had the 17" have the 19".

It's a new tv for $50, maybe delivered. So yeah, considering I spent 25 years looking at a 25 inch tv, looks pretty good.

For $50 you can't expect much, but it might work well as a "kids tv" or something for a small bedroom
