Depends if you think you'll use the storage up to 1TB. The M5's SSD is one of the few things that they actually upgraded over the M4 version, so if you're gonna use a lot of storage, I'd go 1TB. If not or if you're okay with using an external or cloud, just stick to the 512gb as it's a better deal.

You can use PayPal, just need to buy a gift card separately to lower the price below $1500.

So if I understand right, I buy a b&h giftcard for say $100 (enough to cover tax). Then I buy the laptop, apply the giftcard, and then make the buy in 4 purchase? Have you tried this? I'll buy now if it works.
Edit: I bought $350 in gift cards leaving a little under $1250 to pay based on my state tax. Paid that with PayPal pay in 4 and it shows as points pending so it looks like it worked.

B&H 1TB price is $1749 as well and you can get tax free in most states except NY and FL. In those states you can get the payboo Cc and save on your tax rate if you pay off in a billing cycle.

I did this with the best buy deal (1T version) and a $150 gift card and it worked.
