Community Reviews

The iPad Mini A17 Pro stands out as a compact 8.3 inch tablet with strong value at $349 for 128GB, especially since the base model is normally $499. The 128GB tier appears roomy enough for casual browsing, streaming, photos, and lighter games, with real world examples leaving plenty of free space even after dozens of apps and media files. Heavier games and lots of video or music can fill it faster, so 256GB offers extra breathing room and better resale value. PayPal financing and trade in credits also helped lower the effective price.

Common Questions (4)

  • For casual use, 128GB can be enough: one setup with 151 apps, 2,080 photos, 54 videos, and 15 downloaded movies still had 44GB free. Heavier games like LoL or COD can range from about 2-4GB each and may reach around 20GB with content packs, so 256GB is safer if your child installs lots of large games.

  • PayPal Pay in 4 worked on this purchase, and one checkout reported about $75 back from the 20% offer. The points did not show as pending immediately in one case, so the cashback timing may not be instant.

    HE1Janseph

  • A 6th-gen iPad mini trade-in reportedly credited $185, bringing the final cost down to $164. Best Buy charges the full sale price first and then refunds the trade-in amount back to the card.

  • The iPad mini screen size is 8.3 inches, not 11 inches.

$100 more for the 256 GB and wondering if I get the 128GB, how much free space will be available to use after installing all the updates and most every day Apps? I mean if my kid wants to load any Gaming Apps, would there be enough space or better to get the 256 GB?

All depends on what kind of games your kid wants to play. I have this 128 mini but only have Roblox loaded for the kids and some supercell games and I'm not even pushing 40GB, plenty of storage for me. If your kid does LoL or COD those usually run something like 2-4GB each but can run up to 20GB with content packs, so a lot of variance based on what they are doing.

Thanks for the response and based on your reply, I fairly got an understanding and I think I better get the 256 GB on safer side so that he will have enough space and won't bug me Big Grin if he run out of the space with 128 GB

This is an excellent deal too. Consider the base model 128GB is $499 full price, here you're getting double the storage for still $50 less than a base model (total of $150 off). Man, I just bought my 256GB a month ago at $499 too haha. Better to hafve a bit extra than not enough. 128GB is enoguh for casual web browsing, watching YouTube, light gaming... But if you want to store any video files, a ton of music or your child downloads larger more graphic-s heavy games, it fills up fast! Also, re-sale value is decently higher for the next storage tier up (Because 256GB is the sweet spot for the majority of users and Apple knows that lol).
