These are the ones that beat all the brands, including Snappy, MAC, & Williams in the Torque Test Channel shootout

I don't usually splurge on myself, but splurging on the car working isn't much of a splurge. I got the 11-pc set to augment my random other wrenches.

I would disagree that you can't get a lot of work done with the closed end of cheap wrenches (assuming you also own all the sockets and socket accessories you need.) My cheap wrenches that I got at Walmart 20 years ago were made in Taiwan. (The open end is a little different story, and, of course, my newest car is from 2010.) The point at which buying more expensive tools feels like it's worth it is different for different people, and may involve some overreaction to PTSD from stuck / broken / rusty fasteners long past.

I do not plan on grabbing one of these 6-pt ends for general use.

These are great open end wrenches for the money. Unfortunately the closed end is 6pt which is not ideal. In the past they made the overdrive wrenched with 12pt closed ends, those are the real deal but i dont believe they are made anymore. These are still great wrenches but be aware 6pt in a close end limits functionality compared to 12pt

Overdrive was never made with 12pt box end. They've been like this since they were released.
